National Square Dancing Convention
The Australian Youth Dance Theatre and the Australian Youth Choir were invited to perform at the opening of the National Square Dancing Convention on Friday 5th June 2009 at the Loftus Street Recreational Centre in Leederville WA. Square Dancers from all over Australia attended the opening Ceremony and the Australian Youth Dance Theatre presented "Paint Your Wagon" from "Brothers and Sisters" to fire participants enthusiasm and get them focused for a great convention. The Australian Youth Choir sung "Advance Australia Fair" and "I still call Australia Home" before 2000 square dancers hit the floor in a mass celebration of dance to start the event.
