The Australian Youth Choir are featured on the Australia All Over from Macca Radio Show, during the 9am to 10am slot, from 6:00 to 11:35 minutes.

Currently 5 girls from The Australian Youth Choir and Christine Grey, are in China as participants of the  “World Peace Choir” until the 1st of September. Selected choristers include Diya Menon (12), Brooke Newton (15), Amy Thit (14), Chanelle Thomas (14) and Caitlyn Woods (14).

The World Peace Choir group have invited choirs from Australia, Austria, Estonia, India and Malaysia to participate. It aims to bring young musicians together from different cultural backgrounds to sing and make beautiful music. The World Peace Choir aims to be a living example for the good friendship between different nations and hopes to build a bright and peaceful future for the whole world.

The conductor of the World Peace Choir is the world-renowned Gerald Wirth, artistic director of the Vienna Boys Choir. The repertoire is varied and includes a song from each country. The Australian Youth Choir have chosen ‘Waltzing Matilda’. There have been concerts in Beijing, Shanghai, Jinan,
Jai lu and  Chongqing. 

We have been getting some little updates from the girls: they are having a fantastic time. They enjoy seeing all the different cities, meeting the other young choristers from around the world, and a few have even been adventurous to try the more exotic Chinese food!
