The AYC Choral Arts education programme

The following disciplines are included in the choral arts programme:
• Vocal development
• Breathing Techniques
• Choral Repertoire
• Pitch and Rhythmic Development
• Sequential Sight Singing Programme
• Sequential Aural Training Programme
• Performance Experience

Training in these areas will assist in the development of:
• Memory retention
• Aural skills
• Co-ordination
• Aesthetics awareness
• Physical development

It is expected that all students, having made a commitment to the Australian Youth Choir, will complete the programme offered for that particular year.

Annual Assessments
Students' progress is monitored through rehearsal and curriculum work in a supportive environment. In November, parents and students will be furnished with a report of the results of the assessment. Progression to the next level is determined by each individual's vocal development.
