The Australian Youth Choir and the Australian Youth Dance Theatre
explore new performing territory with regular International Concert
tours.
The Australian Youth Choir has given
Recitals in the world's finest cathedrals and Concert Halls,
celebrating its 30 year Anniversary in 2005 with Aled Jones
and members of the Choir’s
Alumni at a Gala concert at the Royal Albert Hall, London.
The Australian Choir and the Australian Youth Dance Theatre
have also undertaken shared concert tours and have twice performed
at Carnegie Hall, New York.
More recently, the Australian Youth Dance Theatre travelled
and performed in Jakarta, Indonesia and the Choir undertook a
concert tour in 2008 that included performances in Barcelona,
Madrid and Lisbon, Rome and London.
Touring internationally provides both Choristers and Dancers
with memorable performance opportunities and magnificent sight
seeing adventures.
2009 will mark the twenty - eighth International
tour undertaken and will provide the Australian Youth Dance Theatre
with a very exciting opportunity to travel and perform in a new
international setting for NIYPAA. Our dancers have been invited
to travel to China to perform at the 5th International Dance
Festival in Beijing. Our students will perform alongside 24 dance
teams from 16 representative countries. An audience of 10,000
people is expected to watch them. It will be a marvellous opportunity
to represent Australia. In addition they will have to opportunity
to visit the Great Wall of China, the magnificent “Forbidden
City” and the spectacular “Bird’s Nest” Stadium.
