Performing
Arts School
Crucial
to the success of our Dance and Choral programmes is the annual
Performing Arts School held in the June/July holidays. This school
is non residential and held at a venue in close proximity to the
local rehearsal venue.
Performing Arts School is a fantastic way
to provide our students with access to all the ingredients for
a successful and rewarding performance experience. During the school,
all students will deepen their understanding of their art form,
heighten their technical skills and experience the satisfaction
gained from mastering the hurdles and obstacles we all encounter
in the pursuit of new knowledge.
The curriculum continues the focus on vocal
development for choristers and the refinement of technique for
dancers, but students are also able to give greater consideration
to other elements associated with the performing arts. Singing,
drama and dance are all important in the daily activities organised
for both choristers and dancers.
The relaxed atmosphere at Performing Arts
School allows students and teachers to enjoy each other socially.
We look forward to the opportunity to spend more time with our
students, allowing new insights into the young personalities that
we are helping to shape.
National Performing
Arts School
National Performing Arts School is held in the September/October
holidays each year.
Senior choristers and dancers (Chamber Choir and Ensemble )may
audition for place – This intensive holiday workshop takes
place in a different state each year.
The pace is
fast, the expectations high and the week exhilarating!
Excellence
within the performing arts requires similar focus to the pursuit
of excellence within any other endeavour - excellence is achieved
through commitment. Students who are prepared to strive to enhance
their skills, who wish to fine tune their artistic focus in a
methodical and deliberate way, who embrace new challenges and
artistic demands, will find their aspirations satisfied during
National Performing Arts School.
This is a great week away together! It confirms
our commitment to the development of those members of our Senior
Ensembles in each state who wish to accept a greater challenge.
Students are admitted to this intensive training programme by audition
only. They are offered the opportunity to work with a variety of
conductors and choreographers, who are leaders in their field,
to develop their skills and focus on additional repertoire with
others who are equally determined to be as good as they can be!
