			The Australian Youth Choir stamps its mark for Australia Day The Australian Youth Choir helped to mark the beginnings of Australian Day celebrations for Australia Post at a special luncheon to launch the latest stamp series recognizing “Australian Legends”. The stamps feature Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe and Geoffrey Rush. Geoffrey Rush was present at the luncheon together with Prime Minister Kevin Rudd to launch the series.


			Australia Day Spectacular for Sydney This years Spectacular celebrated Reconciliation as part of the United Nation’s Year of Reconciliation, Chinese New Year as it fell on Australian Day and the 21st Anniversary of the opening of Darling Harbour. The Australian Youth Choir featured amongst the participants in the Entertainment program helping to entertain the crowd of almost 100,000 people and making this year’s Australian Day a memorable one.


			Melbourne’s new Lord Mayor - Councilor Robert Doyle brings a new tune to the Town Hall Our Melbourne Chamber Choir numbering 50 choristers were delighted to perform for the Melbourne City Council Citizenship ceremony held in on Australian Day at Melbourne Town Hall. The Choir regularly performs at the Town Hall and was delighted to sing the National Anthem for Melbourne’s newest Lord Mayor, Councilor Robert Doyle, who encouraged the inclusion of the second verse, so pertinent to those deciding to take citizenship in Australia. “For those who’ve come across the sea, we’ve boundless plains to share”

			ABBAMANIA Members of the Chamber and Recital Choirs were very excited to become part of ABBAMania at the Palm’s Theatre at Crown Casino earlier this month. It was a great chance to perform some of ABBA’s most recognizable tunes and the audiences loved singing along.
