Audition Tips
We know that you’ll probably feel a
little nervous on audition day so here are a few tips for you to
think about before you come.
- It is normal to feel a bit nervous.
- Take some deep breaths before you go
in to the audition room and try to relax and enjoy yourself.
- Don’t worry if you’ve never
auditioned for anything like this before. Most of the young people
who audition each year do so for the first time.
- All choristers and dancers must go though
the audition process.
- The audition will take approximately
15 to 20 minutes
You don’t
have to prepare anything.
There will be a group of other children auditioning with you, so
you won’t be on your own.
Here’s what you can expect
to happen in the audition.
The Audition
- There are a series of steps that you
will asked to copy
- Some will be quite hard
- Some will be
easier
- Some will be very easy
- Don’t worry
if you find some steps too hard, the audition will help us to
decide the best level and rehearsal group for you
- You might be
asked to move into another line or to a different place during
the audition. This is to ensure that everyone has a chance to
be seen during the audition.
For Mum and
Dad
- The audition will allow our staff to
decide where a child is best placed to begin their experience
with NIYPAA.
- Parents are welcome to watch the audition,
but we ask for your understanding in regard to younger siblings
who can often be a distraction in the audition process.
- As consec
utive auditions are held on
the day, it will not be possible to speak to the Auditioner,
however a Manger is in attendance to assist with any questions.
